Get Baptized

We are excited for you to learn more about baptism. At CIAN, we believe that all lovers of Jesus should experience water immersion. This is baptism—being immersed in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Scripture teaches that baptism is an act of obedience to Christ and an outward demonstration of an inward commitment to Him.

Baptism is a significant step in your journey. It symbolizes the cleansing of sin and the active participation in the life of Christ. By choosing to be baptized, you are publicly declaring that you acknowledge Christ as your Life and aligning yourself with the Gospel.

We are here to guide you in understanding what the Scripture teaches about baptism and to support you every step of the way. Below, you can:

Once a person repents and experiences Jesus Christ as his salvation, the next step is proclaiming the decision to actively participate in the Life of Jesus, for the rest of your life on earth. Baptism is an initial and immediate step of obedience by one who publicly declares to be in the Faith. So important was this step that, as far as we know, every single convert in the New Testament was baptized, except for the thief on the cross, there is no example of an unbaptized believer.

Jesus was baptized according to Matthew 3:16-17. Since then, lovers of Jesus have followed this tradition. Baptism was commanded by Jesus and is a way to go public with your faith to show others that you have decided to follow Him and start a personal relationship with God. “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19

The Apostle Paul’s high regard for baptism is demonstrated in the fact that he knows all of his readers have been instructed in its importance (Romans 6:17). Indeed, baptism is a vow, a sacred vow of the believer to follow Christ. Just as a wedding celebrates the fusion of two hearts, baptism celebrates the union of your Lover and you. We “became part of Christ when we were baptized.” (Romans 6:3) Don’t prevent baptism from being what God intended. This is no optional command. This is no trivial issue. It is a willing next step into the power and promise of Jesus. Baptism is important because it was important enough for Jesus to invite us to experience it, isn’t it important enough for you to obey?

And if it was important enough for Jesus to do, isn’t it important enough for you to experience it?
